Here to help your young person through their Scouting journey, no matter where it starts
Thinking about joining? Were here to help youWhether your young person is new to Scouting or not, whether they want to join as a Beaver, Cub, Scout or an Explorer, whether they've ever been camping, climbed a tree, piloted a narrowboat, or flown down a zip-wire, we'll make sure that they will have fun while learning skills they can use in the real world.
Our sections are open to young people aged between 5¾ and 18 years of age and run by our amazing team of volunteers. We run regular bring a friend sessions throughout the year, and we're so sure your young person will enjoy it, that their first two sessions are absolutely free.

Every week, we help young people between 4 and 18 years of age develop skills for life.
4 to 6 year olds
Learning through fun, games, adventure and activities in the newest branch of our family tree.

6 to 8 year olds
Making new friends, trying fun new experiences, both indoors and outdoors, and getting stuck in.

8 to 10½ year olds
Learning practical life skills, having exciting adventures and experiences with friends.

10½ to 14 year olds
Developing new skills and building confidence, resilience and a sense of adventure and belonging.

14 to 18 year olds
Building leadership skills, standing on your own two feet, working with your peers, and embracing new experiences.

Every week, they’re the reason our young people get to explore new adventures, build confidence, and grow into the best versions of themselves. They show up, work together, and make a real difference in the lives of local young people.
You don’t need to be an expert in the outdoors, or even have been a Scout before. Whatever your skills or schedule, there’s a place for you here. Whether it’s an hour a month or an evening a week, every bit of help makes a huge impact - and trust us, you’ll gain as much as you give.
We’ll provide all the support and training you need. You just bring your enthusiasm, get involved, and help create unforgettable experiences right here in Billesley.

If you're new to Scouting, you've probably got loads of questions that you would like answers to - things that range from the uniform and equipment you need, to the kinds of things you take away when we go on trips and camps.
Our management and leadership team are always available to answer any questions you might have, but we've also got a lot of information, and answers to some of the most commonly asked questions.
