That’s it for 2023

We’ll be back on Tuesday 9 January 2024. Have a very happy Christmas!

As the year draws to a close and we bid farewell to our last sessions before the Christmas break, we find ourselves filled with gratitude and nostalgia as we reflect on the incredible journey of our Scout Group’s 10th birthday year. It’s been a year of adventure, growth, some amazing camps, events and unforgettable memories.

From the outset, we knew that our 10th year in Scouting would be something special. We set out with a determination to make it a year to remember, subsidising the cost of some of the Group’s greatest camps, events and trips yet. Legoland was amazing, our Summer Camp in Wrexham doubly so, and our amazing Birthday Party, just last month, helped to top off an incredible year.

One of the defining features of this year has been the sense of camaraderie and community spirit that has infused everything we’ve done. Whether it was embarking on our challenging 10th Birthday hike, teaching our youngest members how to cook on an open fire, or simply sharing stories, music and laughter around the campfire at Summer Camp, the bonds we’ve forged have been stronger than ever.

But it hasn’t just been about the adventures and the outdoor activities – although there have been plenty of those! This year has also been about personal growth and development. We’ve seen each and every one of our Scouts grow in confidence, resilience, and leadership skills as they’ve taken on new challenges and pushed themselves beyond their comfort zones.

Of course, no birthday year would be complete without a celebration, and we certainly know how to throw a party! But more than the parties and the festivities, it’s the sense of pride and accomplishment that has truly made this year special. Our deep thanks go to Lewis, Kelly and Pete – the stalwart founding members who are still actively with the group today – and, as we look back on all that we’ve achieved together, we can’t help but feel a profound sense of gratitude – for the experiences we’ve shared, the lessons we’ve learned, and the friendships we’ve forged.

As we prepare to bid farewell to 2023 and look ahead to the adventures that await us in the new year, we do so with a renewed sense of purpose and passion. Our 10th birthday year may be coming to a close, but our adventures, friendship, and service will continue to guide us on our journey into the next 10 years.

A very happy Christmas to our Scouting friends and family, and we look forward to seeing you in 2024!
