What does this team do?

Our Squirrel team helps our youngest members take their first steps into Scouting. We plan and run a varied programme of games, activities and adventures that gives Squirrels the chance to explore, learn new skills, make friends and build confidence.

The team works together to create a welcoming environment where every Squirrel can get involved. There’s plenty of opportunity to bring your own ideas, interests and skills to the programme too.

What would I do?

That’s really up to you and what you enjoy! You could help prepare and run activities, support individual Squirrels, organise resources or simply get stuck in wherever an extra pair of hands is needed.

You’ll work alongside the rest of the team, learning as you go and getting plenty of support. You don’t need to know everything about Scouting before you start – we’ll help you find your feet.

What would I need?

Most importantly, you’ll need enthusiasm, patience and a willingness to work with young people. Any previous experience is useful, but it isn’t essential. If you’ve got a particular skill or interest you’d like to share, we’d love to hear about it.

How much time would I need?

We understand that life gets busy, so we’ll work with the time you have available. The role is based around our regular Squirrel meetings, with opportunities to get involved in activities and events when you’re able to.

Great reasons to volunteer

You don’t need to be Dwayne Fields to volunteer with Scouts – we’ve already got him as our Chief Scout – but if you're a smiler, an inspirer, an activity planner, a great tea-maker, the best sandwich-maker in Warwick, or a really good all rounder, then you could be amazing for Scouts, and Scouts could be amazing for you.

Here are just some of the amazing reasons:

  • Share your experience and skills with young people while developing yourself
  • Have fun and meet new people in the area
  • Inspire a generation (who will never forget what you did for them)

We’ll give you a warm welcome, make sure that you have all the support you need, give you access to easy-to-understand training and resources online, and the flexibility to get involved in a way that works for you.

At Scouts, every week is different, amazing and rewarding - for everyone that takes part.
